Khavda, Gujarat — Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday reviewed the progress of the Khavda Renewable Energy (RE) Park, India’s largest hybrid renewable energy project, located in the arid expanse of the Rann of Kutch. The project is a key pillar of India’s clean energy roadmap and aims to transform the region into a global hub for sustainable power.
Highlighting the rapid pace of development, CM Patel credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership for turning an inhospitable terrain into a green powerhouse. “Under PM Modi’s leadership, Khavda is not just a project; it is a symbol of India’s commitment to a sustainable future,” he said during the inspection.
Once completed, the Khavda RE Park is expected to generate enough electricity to power 18.5 million homes by 2028, combining both solar and wind capacities across a vast stretch of over 72,000 hectares.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the project not only addresses India’s climate commitments but also creates significant employment opportunities and strengthens Gujarat’s position as a renewable energy leader.
