Patna, Bihar: Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Tuesday predicted the collapse of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) in Bihar before the next elections, citing internal power struggles among its key constituents, Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
"The way the battle for supremacy has started between the various constituents of the Mahagathbandhan, they (Congress) have now realized that they do not have much to lose," Paswan said. He asserted that by the time elections arrive, Congress and RJD will no longer contest together, leading to the alliance’s complete disintegration.
Commenting on Holi and Jumma falling on the same day, Paswan emphasized India's tradition of religious harmony. "Every religion, especially Hindu festivals, means that everyone celebrates together. We have upheld the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb for decades," he said. However, he accused the RJD of attempting to create religious imbalance and engaging in appeasement politics, stating that such actions were not in the best interest of social unity.
