Mumbai: Union Minister Chirag Paswan has voiced optimism about the Maharashtra Assembly elections, expressing confidence that the current double-engine government will continue in the state. Speaking to the media, Paswan said, "The people's trust in the current government in Maharashtra is increasing with each passing day. People want this double-engine government to continue in the coming days."
Paswan highlighted the enthusiasm among citizens, which he claims reflects their satisfaction with the leadership of the state and central governments. "The people have made up their minds about this," he added.
Criticizing the opposition, Paswan accused them of securing votes by spreading fear and misinformation. "The opposition has gotten people's votes by scaring them and telling lies to them. That's why PM Narendra Modi has said, 'Ek hain to safe hain'," he remarked, emphasizing the unity within their alliance as a key to ensuring stability and progress.
The term "double-engine government" refers to the BJP-led administration's coordination between the central and state governments, aimed at accelerating development and governance. The Maharashtra Assembly elections are expected to be a closely watched contest, with both alliances—BJP-Shiv Sena and the opposition parties—preparing to engage voters on key issues such as development, governance, and public welfare.
As election campaigns intensify, the BJP and its allies are banking on their record in governance and development, while the opposition seeks to capitalize on issues like unemployment and rising inflation to sway voters.
