China has extended congratulations to Madam Sushila Karki on assuming office as the Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government. In an official statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Beijing’s support for Nepal’s independent political choices and expressed its readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

“China congratulates Madam Sushila Karki on becoming the Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government. China and Nepal share a time-honored friendship. China, as always, respects the development path chosen independently by the people of Nepal,” the ministry’s spokesperson said.

The remarks underlined Beijing’s willingness to deepen cooperation under the framework of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. “We stand ready to work with Nepal to promote the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and further advance bilateral relations,” the statement added.
