Raipur: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has alleged a conspiracy involving Congress leader Suresh Chandrakar in the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar. Addressing the media, Sharma outlined the state government’s swift response to the incident and reiterated its commitment to justice.

“Mukesh Chandrakar was covering the areas of inner Bastar, Bastar Junction, for establishing peace in Bastar and ending naxalism. This murder happened through the conspiracy of Congress leader Suresh Chandrakar. The police immediately took action and registered an FIR,” Sharma said.

In a decisive move, the state government has formed an 11-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case. “Action is also being taken on all his [Suresh Chandrakar's] illegal hideouts. His bank accounts have been frozen. Four teams have been formed to track down the absconding Congress leader,” Sharma added.

The Deputy CM assured that the investigation would be expedited and completed within four weeks, with the findings to be submitted to the court. “We will leave no stone unturned to ensure justice is served,” he emphasized.
