New Delhi, January 4 — Reacting to the tragic IED blast in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to eliminating naxalism. Addressing the media, Sharma emphasized that a thorough investigation would be conducted into the incident to identify lapses and prevent future attacks.

"How did this happen, it is a matter of investigation," Sharma said. "Investigation will be done, and better steps will be taken. Now we will work with much more strength to eliminate naxalism."

The Bijapur IED blast has once again highlighted the persistent threat of naxal violence in Chhattisgarh, a state that has been grappling with insurgent activity for decades. While the number of naxal-related incidents has decreased in recent years due to sustained counter-insurgency operations, sporadic attacks like the Bijapur blast underline the need for continued vigilance.

Expressing confidence in the state’s strategy, the Deputy CM reiterated, "There is no doubt naxalism will be wiped out." He further stated that the government is committed to implementing stronger measures to enhance the safety of security personnel and civilians in affected areas.
