Raipur, Chhattisgarh – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the transformative changes in the accessibility of LPG gas connections during a felicitation ceremony for LPG dealers. Reflecting on his time as a Member of Parliament, Sai recalled the challenges faced by citizens in the past, noting that it often took up to 1.5 to 2 years to get a gas connection.

“When I was an MP, at that time we had to wait 1.5-2 years to get a gas connection,” said Vishnu Deo Sai, pointing out how this delay caused significant inconvenience for people. He went on to credit the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for addressing this issue and transforming the system. “But PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee fixed this system… Our country is fortunate for Atal Bihari Vajpayee and then PM Narendra Modi that services like gas agencies and petrol pumps are easily accessible now,” he added.

Sai also emphasized the broader social and environmental impact of providing LPG gas connections to households. He highlighted how these connections have helped reduce the reliance on firewood, which not only posed health risks for women but also contributed to environmental degradation. “LPG gas connections at home have enabled the safety of forests, the environment, and women from health issues due to burning wood at home,” he noted, underlining the importance of these services in improving the quality of life and promoting sustainability.
