Mumbai: In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has come out strongly against the perpetrators, describing the assault as a "cowardly act" and extending his condolences to the victims and their families.

Speaking to reporters, CM Sai stated, “We strongly condemn the cowardly act by terrorists in Pahalgam, Kashmir yesterday and express our condolences to the deceased. The Prime Minister was on a visit to Saudi Arabia, but he returned, cutting short his visit. Ever since PM Modi has come to power, the country has been responding to terrorist attacks, and this attack will definitely be responded to as well.”

The attack, which occurred on Sunday evening, targeted a security convoy in the picturesque but often tense region of Pahalgam. Preliminary reports indicate that multiple casualties have been reported, and security forces have launched a wide-scale operation in response.

Sai emphasized that India has adopted a new stance against terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, one that prioritizes immediate and decisive action. “This is not the India that remains silent. We have a government that stands firm in the face of terror and is committed to protecting its citizens,” he added.
