Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) Hospital on Thursday to console and provide support to the injured victims of the tragic stampede in Tirupati.

The stampede occurred late Wednesday night at Bairagi Patteda, near MGM School, where hundreds of devotees had gathered to obtain tickets for Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at the revered Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala Hills. The chaotic scene resulted in the deaths of six devotees, while nearly 40 others sustained injuries.

During his hospital visit, Naidu interacted with the injured and assured them of the government’s commitment to their recovery and well-being. He directed hospital authorities to provide the best possible medical care and instructed local officials to ensure that the families of the deceased and injured receive adequate support and compensation.

Speaking to the media, Naidu expressed his grief over the incident, calling it a "heart-wrenching tragedy." He extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and emphasized the need for stricter crowd management measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
