Jammu, J&K: Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta on Tuesday confirmed that the Central government has received a detailed 29-page draft proposal from the Apex Body of Ladakh, outlining its major demands and expectations. The submission marks a significant step in the ongoing dialogue between regional representatives and the Union government over administrative, political, and developmental concerns in the Union Territory.
Gupta said the Centre had earlier requested the Apex Body to formally document its proposals, and the latest submission fulfils that requirement. “As discussed earlier, the Central government had asked the Apex Body to submit a draft, which has now been submitted,” he said. He added that the government would evaluate the document with an aim to maintain stability and harmony in the region. “Based on that draft, the Centre will take its decision to maintain a peaceful environment in the region.”
The LG expressed optimism about the next round of talks between the two sides. He said the structured draft would help streamline discussions and enable clearer decision-making. “In the next meeting between the Centre and the Apex Body, we hope to reach a conclusion in this regard,” he noted.
