Bhubaneswar, Odisha | Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday announced that the Centre has approved an additional ₹1,000 crore under the Central Road Fund to support state governments in developing road infrastructure across the country.
Speaking at the 84th Annual Convention of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) in Bhubaneswar, Gadkari said, “Under the Central Road Fund, money is provided to state governments; we have approved an additional ₹1,000 crore for that. We will provide this additional funding based on the proposals we get from the government.”
The Minister reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to improving connectivity and boosting infrastructure-led growth, adding that the approved funds will be allocated based on the states’ project proposals and priorities.
Gadkari also highlighted the progress of the Bhubaneswar Ring Road project, which he said had already received approval. “I had already approved the Bhubaneswar Ring Road. There are three packages for which the foundation stone laying will happen soon; these will be very important for Bhubaneswar,” he said.
