Balangir, Odisha: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday announced a significant educational boost for Balangir, an aspirational district in Odisha, with a central investment of ₹100 crores aimed at strengthening school infrastructure and access to quality education.

Speaking at a public event, Pradhan said, “We have laid the foundation stones of two central schools, and given a humble push to take this aspirational district forward. The Union government has sanctioned ₹30 crores each for these two schools.”

He highlighted that the central government’s commitment goes beyond just the two institutions. “These schools will have a big impact in this district. Additionally, 21 PM-SHRI schools have also been given to this district, which means the central government is spending ₹100 crores on school education here,” he added.

The initiative is part of the Centre’s broader vision to uplift educational infrastructure in backward and underdeveloped regions through the PM Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) scheme, which focuses on modern facilities, smart classrooms, and holistic learning environments.
