In a significant political statement reinforcing the push for social justice, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha has said that the recently conducted caste census is only the beginning of a broader movement aimed at ensuring fair representation for backward and marginalized communities.

Speaking from Patna, Jha remarked, “Caste census was being demanded for a long time… As the Leader of Opposition said, this is just the first step.” Emphasizing the need for systemic reforms, he laid out a series of follow-up measures that he believes must accompany the census data.

Among the key demands, Jha highlighted the need to increase the scope of reservations. “There are many other things, like the scope of reservation should increase, there should be provision of reservation in the private sector,” he stated, underlining the RJD’s position that affirmative action must extend beyond government jobs and institutions.
