Jammu: A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Jammu has confirmed the deployment of the indigenously developed 'Vidhwansak' anti-material rifle during Operation Sindoor, detailing its crucial role in neutralizing enemy bunkers and towers across the border. The revelation comes amid heightened interest in India’s military operations and indigenous defence capabilities.

Speaking to reporters, the BSF jawan explained the weapon’s specifications: “This is an Anti-Material Rifle 'Vidhwansak'. Its effective range is between 1300 to 1800 meters. This weapon destroyed enemy towers and bunkers during Operation Sindoor.”

The Vidhwansak, meaning “destroyer” in Hindi, is a heavy-caliber sniper and anti-material rifle developed by the Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli. It is designed to penetrate hardened targets, such as bunkers, light armored vehicles, and communication infrastructure.
