Jammu: A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stationed in Jammu has revealed the significant role played by the Automatic Grenade System (AGS) during Operation Sindoor, crediting the weapon with the successful destruction of multiple enemy positions, including bullet-proof vehicles and fortified hideouts.
“This Automatic Grenade System proved a very successful weapon during Operation Sindoor to destroy enemy posts, hideouts, and also their bullet-proof vehicles,” the BSF jawan stated. “Its range is 1700 to 2100 meters. The grenade fired from it has a killing area of 10 meters. Its fire is very effective.”
The AGS is a high-rate-of-fire, belt-fed automatic grenade launcher capable of delivering sustained explosive fire at long distances. Designed to suppress enemy infantry, neutralize bunkers, and disable lightly armored vehicles, it has emerged as a crucial asset in modern asymmetric and border warfare scenarios.
