Patna, Bihar | Amid protests from aspirants demanding a re-examination of the 70th BPSC Prelims, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced that a re-test will be conducted for candidates from the Bapu Examination Centre on January 4, 2025. The decision comes in light of disruptions reported at the centre during the original examination.

Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed the concerns during a press briefing, asserting that allegations of a paper leak were baseless and unsupported by evidence. "There has been no report of irregularities from 911 other centres. This issue pertains solely to the Bapu Examination Centre," Singh clarified.

The re-exam aims to maintain the integrity of the selection process, with results expected to be released by the end of January 2025. This would ensure that the Mains examination proceeds as scheduled in April.

Singh also highlighted discrepancies in the participation data. "While 4.49 lakh admit cards were downloaded, only 3.38 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. Additionally, 40,000 admit cards were not even downloaded," he revealed, pointing to a significant gap between registered and actual participants.

Protests erupted shortly after the preliminary test, with candidates alleging procedural lapses and a possible paper leak. However, the Commission has consistently denied these allegations, urging aspirants to rely on factual information.
