BJP leader Tarun Chugh delivered a sharp rebuttal to Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi following his recent remarks about External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and ‘Operation Sindoor.’
Chugh questioned the Congress leader’s track record during the UPA regime, specifically citing the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. “I want to ask Rahul Gandhi: when the 26/11 Mumbai attacks happened and the UPA government was in power, what did they do then? They only stopped a cricket match,” Chugh said, implying a lack of adequate response to terror threats at that time.
He accused the Congress of historically “laying out the red carpet for terrorists” and contrasted this with the current government’s efforts. “Currently, all-party delegations are exposing Pakistan’s inhumane face on the global stage. At such a critical time, Rahul Gandhi is questioning his own army?” Chugh remarked.
While acknowledging Pakistan’s displeasure over India’s diplomatic push, Chugh questioned why Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party appear bothered by these developments. “It's understandable that Pakistan is unhappy, but why is the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party so bothered by all this?” he added.
