Delhi: In response to the announcement of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate for Bihar, BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala on Friday questioned the alliance’s internal coherence and justified the NDA’s seat-sharing strategy.

Poonawala highlighted that even within the opposition, there were doubts about Tejashwi Yadav’s ability to secure voter support. “How much support people have given was visible when someone who is close to Rahul Gandhi raised questions on Tejashwi Yadav’s face as the CM and said that only Rahul Gandhi’s face could win votes in Bihar, and no one else’s face would work,” he said.

Defending the NDA’s strategy, he said the alliance prioritizes a clear vision and mission. “The NDA alliance is about vision and mission, which is why we chose our seats and the face of Nitish Kumar,” Poonawala added.

He also criticized the Mahagathbandhan’s seat distribution, suggesting that Congress, despite having a significant role, received limited responsibilities. “Yesterday, I saw that Tejashwi Yadav is the CM face, the VIP chief is the Dy CM face, and the Congress party, which has 60 contesting seats and 4 MPs, got the job of laying the carpet,” he remarked.
