NEW DELHI – In a fiery press conference, BJP candidate for the New Delhi constituency, Parvesh Verma, accused AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of misleading the public regarding a recent incident involving local voters. Verma alleged that Kejriwal falsely portrayed the interaction as an attack on his convoy, labeling voters as "goons."
“You cannot become ‘Aam Aadmi’ by naming your party ‘Aam Aadmi,’” Verma remarked, questioning Kejriwal’s connection with the common man. He alleged that the AAP leader mishandled young voters who sought to discuss employment issues. “When youth come to talk to you about employment, you hit them with your car,” he stated.
Verma referred to an incident where three local voters attempted to approach Kejriwal and were subsequently accused of being BJP-affiliated. “Yesterday, three voters of this Assembly tried to approach Arvind Kejriwal to talk to him. They didn’t have any weapons. They (AAP) posted a photo and claimed the person is related to BJP and me,” Verma said.
He further criticized Kejriwal’s shifting statements about the incident. “First, he said these people were from West Delhi, Haryana, and Mundka village. When he learned they were local voters, he changed his statement and claimed his car was attacked by a stone,” Verma explained.
Parvesh Verma pledged to release an unedited video of the incident to counter AAP’s claims.
