Delhi: BJP leader Kailash Gahlot expressed gratitude to the central leadership for fielding him as the party's candidate from the Bijwasan Assembly constituency. In a statement, Gahlot said, "I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Delhi BJP President for this opportunity. I am committed to serving the people of Bijwasan and Delhi at large."

Criticizing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Gahlot alleged that the party, which once claimed to represent the common man, has deviated from its principles. "The Aam Aadmi Party, which used to claim it worked for the common man, has now become the 'Khas Aadmi Party'. The people of Delhi have been cheated a lot by their hollow promises," he remarked.

Gahlot also stressed the importance of collaboration between the state government, the central government, and the Lieutenant Governor for effective governance. "No government can work in Delhi without taking the Center and the Lieutenant Governor along. The BJP is the only party capable of ensuring inclusive and sustainable development in Delhi," he added.

The BJP has positioned Gahlot as a key contender in the Bijwasan Assembly constituency, focusing on development and addressing grievances of the local population. Gahlot’s statement underscores BJP’s strategy to highlight perceived governance failures of the AAP while presenting the party as a reliable alternative for Delhiites.
