Kolkata: BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has urged West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose to submit an accurate report to the Centre regarding the recent violence in Murshidabad district. Ghosh criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's handling of the situation, accusing her government of negligence and inaction. He emphasized the importance of truthful reporting to ensure appropriate action is taken.
The violence, which occurred on April 11 during protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, resulted in three deaths and widespread unrest. Governor Bose visited the affected areas, met with victims, and submitted a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs, highlighting concerns over radicalization and the state's response to the crisis.
Ghosh expressed gratitude to the Governor for his proactive approach but criticized the state government's response. He stated that if the Mamata Banerjee-led government fails to control the law and order situation, the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) could be imposed in certain parts of the state.
