Jammu: BJP leader Devender Singh Rana has criticized the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) for its strategic alliances in past and upcoming elections. Rana alleged that Omar Abdullah, during his tenure as interim Chief Minister, was reluctant to relinquish power and sought to keep the NC in a position of influence.
"He (Omar Abdullah) was interim CM and didn't want to leave power. He wanted NC to be in power in one way or the other," Rana stated. He further claimed that when Farooq Abdullah was abroad, he instructed to engage with the BJP to maintain some form of government presence. "Farooq Abdullah was abroad and he asked him to go and talk to the BJP and stay in Government somehow," Rana added.
Rana also suggested that the current political dynamics will prevent any future collaboration between the BJP and NC. "Now the situation will not arise for BJP and NC to come together," he concluded, indicating that the past strategy of aligning with the central government will not be applicable moving forward.
Rana's comments reflect ongoing political tensions and the complex relationships between regional parties and the central government in Jammu and Kashmir.
