Bangalore, Karnataka | In response to the Congress-led Karnataka government's protest against the Centre over fuel price hikes, BJP leader CN Ashwath Narayan shifted the blame to the state government, claiming that the recent increase in fuel prices is primarily due to state-level actions.

"Fuel prices have been increased only by the state government in Karnataka," Narayan stated. He pointed out that the Karnataka government had raised diesel prices by Rs 5.50 and petrol by Rs 3. According to him, the increase in fuel costs at the state level has overshadowed the Centre's efforts to reduce prices.

Narayan took aim at the Congress leadership, saying, "The BJP government in the Centre has reduced the diesel and petrol prices. Has the Congress government in Karnataka reduced anything?" His comments underscore the political rivalry between the state Congress and the BJP-led central government, particularly as the Karnataka government protests against price hikes blamed on the Centre's policies.
