Mumbai – Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule has responded to Shiv Sena (UBT)’s decision to contest the upcoming local body elections independently. Addressing the media, Bawankule emphasized that the BJP will participate in the elections as part of the Mahayuti alliance, a coalition of parties supporting the state and central governments.

“I would like to clarify that the BJP, which has emerged as the biggest party in the recently concluded assembly polls, will contest as part of Mahayuti,” Bawankule stated. His comments were aimed at countering Shiv Sena (UBT)’s move to go solo in the local body elections, signaling that the BJP’s partnership with other regional parties remains intact.

Bawankule also took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of both the Modi-led central government and the Maharashtra state government. “The Modi government and the state government are doing a wonderful job. The Mahayuti will make Maharashtra number 1,” he added, underscoring the BJP’s confidence in the alliance’s ability to bring further development and prosperity to the state
