Patna: The atmosphere at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s state headquarters turned electric on counting day as early trends from the Bihar Assembly Elections signalled a sweeping lead for the NDA. Party workers erupted into celebrations, playing with gulal, distributing sweets, and chanting slogans as the saffron party appeared poised for an impressive performance.
According to the latest trends from the Election Commission, the BJP is leading on 87 of the 101 seats it contested—an indication that the party may be heading toward a record tally in the state. The mood outside the Patna office quickly transformed into one of triumph, with supporters bursting into spontaneous dance and beating drums as confidence grew in the party’s electoral prospects.
Senior leaders, while urging caution until final results are declared, acknowledged that the early leads reflect a strong public mandate in favour of the NDA’s development agenda. Many workers credited the surge to the BJP’s organisational strength and its ability to connect with voters across urban and rural constituencies.
