Jammu: Union Minister Jitendra Singh has asserted that the BJP will play a strong opposition role in the newly elected Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, ensuring that decisions are made in the interest of the people while upholding the party’s nationalist ideology.
"For the first time, we have entered the assembly with such a big majority, and our vote share has improved. Our MLAs are well-prepared to present issues effectively," said Singh. He emphasized that while employment opportunities have been created over the last decade, their benefits are not fully reaching Jammu and Kashmir due to the absence of a double-engine government—a reference to BJP-led administrations at both state and central levels, as seen in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
Singh further stated that BJP legislators will hold the state government accountable for any lapses in implementing central schemes. "The state government must take responsibility for projects that remain stalled despite central support," he added.
