Puducherry – BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan on Saturday highlighted the transformative impact of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms, describing them as a significant step toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “developed India.” Speaking during his visit to Puducherry, Kesavan said the reforms, along with the government’s focus on a self-reliant Bharat through Swadeshi initiatives, are expected to be pivotal in achieving India’s development goals by 2047.
“During my visit to Puducherry today, I met many people who, like the rest of the country’s 140 crore citizens, are praising and celebrating these GST reforms,” Kesavan stated. “The public has expressed gratitude for the relief and convenience these reforms bring to their families, highlighting their broad-based impact on daily economic activities.”
He further emphasized that the GST system simplifies taxation, promotes transparency, and supports businesses across sectors, contributing to overall economic growth. Observers noted that the government’s push for financial reforms, coupled with initiatives to strengthen local industries, continues to generate public discussion and support nationwide.
