Chennai: BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan delivered a strong rebuke to the JMM-Congress alliance over a controversial statement by Ghulam Ahmed Mir, the AICC Jharkhand in-charge. Speaking on the recent remarks, Kesavan expressed alarm, accusing the alliance of prioritizing divisive politics at the expense of Jharkhand’s people. He labeled their actions as a dangerous attempt to manipulate religious sentiments for political gains.

Kesavan took particular issue with Mir’s comments about normalizing illegal infiltrators in Jharkhand, particularly his assertion that these infiltrators would receive benefits like gas cylinders, which, according to Kesavan, could lead to the potential redistribution of resources meant for the state's citizens. “This is a very dangerous trend,” Kesavan said, warning that such actions could undermine the rights of tribal communities, especially concerning reservations and social welfare schemes.

He also emphasized the BJP's resolve to protect the interests of Jharkhand's people, especially in terms of safeguarding "Maati, Beti, Roti" (land, women, food), and to ensure that future generations of the state will thrive. Kesavan concluded by expressing confidence that the people of Jharkhand would reject the divisive politics of the JMM-Congress and vote for the BJP in the upcoming elections.
