New Delhi: Amid the ongoing legal and political battle over the revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, accusing it of undermining the democratic process out of fear of an impending electoral defeat.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, Tiwari said, “When the BJP is nearing its defeat in the Bihar election, it has descended into dishonesty... If neither Aadhaar nor the Ration Card is acceptable, then what is? A memorandum from the BJP office?”
Tiwari was referring to reports of voter verification complications and alleged attempts to disenfranchise voters in the name of electoral roll cleanup. He backed Rahul Gandhi’s recent criticism of the process, asserting that such moves signal desperation within the ruling party.
“They can do whatever they want; we have faith in the Supreme Court, it will protect our voting rights,” Tiwari said, expressing confidence in the judiciary, which is currently hearing multiple pleas related to the Electoral Roll Revision process in Bihar.
