Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Sambit Patra on Tuesday accused opposition parties of disregarding communications from the Election Commission of India (EC) and attempting to safeguard what he described as “infiltrators” for electoral advantage. Speaking in Delhi, Patra said that while the EC repeatedly reached out to opposition leaders, they had chosen not to engage with the institution.
According to Patra, the opposition’s approach reflected a strategy of appeasement and vote bank politics. He alleged that certain parties sought to associate with infiltrators from foreign countries and use them as a means of influencing election outcomes. He further stated that individuals entering the country illegally should not have any entitlement over India’s resources.
