Khunti, Jharkhand — BJP Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak, while campaigning in Khunti for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections, expressed confidence in the BJP’s ability to address the development needs of the state. Speaking to a crowd, Konyak emphasized the party’s commitment to improving the lives of all Jharkhand residents, including its significant tribal population.
“The position of the BJP looks good in Jharkhand because the people now want development,” Konyak stated, pointing to a growing desire among voters for economic progress and better infrastructure. She explained that public opinion has increasingly aligned with the BJP’s goals for development, signaling a shift away from other parties that she suggested had stalled the state’s progress.
Addressing concerns about the BJP’s commitment to tribal communities, Konyak, a tribal leader herself, questioned the notion that the party is against tribal interests. “I am also a tribal. I am in the BJP and I am an MP,” she noted, arguing that her role within the party underscores its dedication to tribal representation and advancement. Her comments aimed to dispel any misconceptions that the BJP’s policies might overlook the interests of Jharkhand’s indigenous communities.
Encouraging the crowd to consider the broader implications of development, Konyak stated, “Jharkhand will change, and it should change if it wants to move forward.” She emphasized that the state’s future lies in embracing change, promoting growth, and ensuring inclusive policies for all its residents. Konyak’s remarks highlighted the BJP’s strategic focus on development-oriented policies and its commitment to progress for Jharkhand, hoping to secure a mandate for change in the upcoming election.
