New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari on Friday expressed his support for the Election Commission’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. He described the process as a crucial step in maintaining the fairness of India’s elections and preventing irregularities in voter registration.
Speaking to reporters, Tiwari said, “SIR is being discussed today, and the Election Commission is conducting the Special Intensive Revision, which we support.” He added that ensuring the accuracy of the voter lists was in the interest of all communities and essential to the democratic process.
However, Tiwari also launched a sharp criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “In my opinion, Rahul Gandhi is a leader of the ‘vote jihadi’, working to convert illegal intruders into voters,” he alleged. According to him, illegal entrants should be seen as a threat to the nation, regardless of religion or community. “An illegal intruder is an enemy for everyone, whether they are Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi,” he remarked.
