New Delhi, June 11 — In the wake of an informal multi-party delegation’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP MP and former police officer Brij Lal shared insights into the discussion, underscoring a unified national stance on security and development.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Brij Lal said the meeting was marked by open and informal exchanges. “All the delegation members informally shared their experiences with the Prime Minister. We exposed Pakistan wherever we went,” he stated, referring to the delegations' interactions with international counterparts.
Known in his police days as "Supercop," Brij Lal emphasized India’s peaceful global image. “On my visits to various countries, I said we are a peaceful country, and want development instead of war,” he noted, adding that the national vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047 remains central to the government’s agenda.
However, he strongly criticized Pakistan for continuing cross-border terrorism, referencing the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. “We gave Pakistan two weeks' time, and only then did we destroy nine terror camps… When they attacked our citizens, we destroyed their 11 airbases,” he claimed, crediting Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for the decisive response.
Addressing remarks made by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, Brij Lal dismissed the criticism as habitual but acknowledged bipartisan unity on national matters. “There were senior Congress leaders in our delegations, giving the message that though we fight politically, when it comes to the sovereignty of the country, we all are one,” he said.
