New Delhi: BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj on Tuesday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on women-led development while strongly criticising opposition leaders for alleged derogatory remarks made against him and his late mother.
Speaking to reporters, Swaraj said the past 11 years had seen significant progress under Modi’s leadership, with policies and programmes designed to empower women forming a core part of India’s development agenda. “In the past 11 years, PM Modi has ensured that India embraces the principle of women-led development while working towards the goal of a developed India,” she stated.
She contrasted this with the conduct of opposition leaders, accusing members of the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of using “indecent and derogatory” language during election rallies. “On the other hand, Congress and RJD leaders use derogatory language for PM Modi and even abuse his mother during an election rally. I want to tell the Opposition that their indecency is not democracy, but cowardice,” Swaraj said.
