New Delhi | During his recent visit to Auli, BJP Lok Sabha MP Anil Baluni explored the vast potential of the region for developing skiing as a major attraction. Sharing his insights on social media, Baluni emphasized Auli’s ability to become a world-class destination for skiing, an endeavor that could reduce the need for Indian ski enthusiasts to travel abroad for their passion.
“Auli has immense possibilities for skiing,” Baluni said, following his interactions with local skiing players, trainers, and youth engaged in the skiing business. “Their suggestions raise hope,” he added, citing the enthusiasm and ambition of those in the region.
Baluni also took part in skiing himself, an experience that seemed to deepen his resolve to promote the region. “The suggestions of these youths and the possibilities scattered in Auli inspired me,” he noted, stressing that with world-class infrastructure, the region could attract tourists and ski lovers from across the globe.
He highlighted the current trend of Indian tourists traveling to Europe for skiing, proposing that such facilities in India would not only provide convenience but also create an attractive destination for international tourists. “By creating that option in India itself, we will create a great destination for Indian ski lovers and tourists,” Baluni added.
The MP also expressed his vision of holding world-class skiing competitions in Auli, with hopes of offering skiing training to budding enthusiasts. Further elaborating, he introduced the concept of night skiing, stating that it could enhance Auli’s appeal as a prominent adventure tourism destination.
