Bidar, Karnataka: BJP MLA CN Ashwath Narayan has reiterated the party’s demand for the withdrawal of the 1974 Waqf Gazette, accusing the Congress government in Karnataka of neglecting the rights of farmers. Speaking during a protest in Bidar, Narayan emphasized the need to protect farmers' interests and ensure justice for those affected by land disputes.

“We want to send a clear message to the Congress government that they need to protect the interest of innocent farmers and ensure that the 1974 Waqf Gazette is withdrawn,” Narayan said. He argued that the land records must be updated to reflect the rightful ownership by farmers.

The BJP leader assured the public that the party’s fight would persist until justice is achieved. “This fight will continue until justice is provided to the farmers,” he declared, rallying support for the cause.

The protest comes amid ongoing debates over land ownership and the impact of historical Waqf Board decisions on farmers in Karnataka. The BJP has accused the Congress government of failing to address these longstanding issues, urging immediate action to secure the rights of farmers across the state.
