BJP National Secretary Anil Antony expressed optimism about the party's prospects in the upcoming by-elections for the Wayanad parliamentary constituency in Kerala. Speaking in Delhi, Antony emphasized that the BJP would perform exceptionally well in Wayanad, attributing the change in representation to Rahul Gandhi’s poor performance as an MP in the region.
“Rahul Gandhi was a non-performing MP in Wayanad for the last five years. Last time, he contested from Wayanad because he knew he was going to lose in Amethi. Now, when he vacated the seat, Priyanka Gandhi is contesting because it’s all in the family,” said Antony.
He further criticized Rahul Gandhi for keeping voters uninformed about his intention to contest from a second constituency, implying that this was an act of dishonesty towards the people of Wayanad.
Antony concluded by expressing confidence in the BJP’s chances: “We are very confident that the people of Wayanad will choose progress and development over non-performance. The best possible candidate will be contesting from here, and we expect great results for the BJP."
