By A Staff Reporter — Wayanad, Kerala: BJP State General Secretary MT Ramesh has strongly condemned the actions of the Waqf Board in Wayanad district, accusing it of illegally claiming land from over 1,015 families. According to Ramesh, the Waqf Board issued notices to these families, and the board's website revealed that every Panchayat in the district had Waqf land, which he described as both "illegal and inhuman."
Ramesh argued that the Waqf Board's actions were unjust and unfair, specifically targeting the impoverished families of Wayanad. He criticized the board for what he termed its "barbaric attitude" in seizing land from these communities. He further stated that the BJP was committed to standing up for the rights of the people and would not tolerate such practices.
The BJP leader announced plans to protest against the Waqf Board’s land claims, with the aim of drawing attention to the alleged injustice and halting what he described as the illegal seizure of property. Ramesh's comments have sparked a debate on the issue of land ownership and religious trusts in Kerala, with the BJP demanding action from the authorities to protect the rights of local families.
