New Delhi: BJD MP Sasmit Patra expressed disappointment over Odisha's exclusion from special funds in the recent budget, questioning the BJP's commitment to the state.
"Bihar and Andhra Pradesh getting special fund is good. BJD does not grudge them. We are asking a simple question - what wrong have the people of Odisha done to deserve this kind of betrayal by the BJP?" Patra remarked. He noted the overwhelming support Odisha showed for BJP, electing 20 out of 21 MPs from the party in the last election.
Patra criticized the BJP for not rewarding the state’s loyalty. "The people of Odisha in this election have elected 20 MPs of BJP out of 21. They would've at least hoped that something good would come out of it. But, they would've been shocked by the betrayal of the BJP," he stated.
Patra further alleged that the BJP in Delhi prioritizes its allies over states like Odisha. "It shows that the BJP in Delhi is more intent and interested in running the government on the hands of their two allies and hence Odisha doesn't matter to them," he concluded.
