BJD MLA Rupesh Kumar Panigrahi recently discussed the formation of the Southern Odisha Development Council, emphasizing the region's diversity and the council's goals for inclusive growth. The formation of a task force, which includes three cabinet ministers and five MLAs, was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

“South Odisha is a diverse region... Yesterday the CM declared the task force and three cabinet ministers and 5 MLAs are part of it. I am representing BJD,” said Panigrahi, explaining the collaborative nature of the task force.

He went on to state that the focus of the council will be on all seven districts of southern Odisha, working towards regional development and addressing the unique challenges the area faces. Panigrahi also emphasized the crucial role of former Chief Minister and BJD leader Naveen Patnaik in shaping the council’s direction.

“As far as our leader and former CM Naveen Patnaik is concerned, even he represents southern Odisha and we will take his inputs. His vast experience will be highly essential for this project,” he noted.

Panigrahi expressed his commitment to ensuring that Patnaik’s vision for the region is fully incorporated into the task force's plans. “I will make sure his vision and points come across in this task force,” he assured.

The formation of the Southern Odisha Development Council is expected to pave the way for focused development initiatives, leveraging the leadership and experience of BJD’s prominent figures to ensure the region’s sustainable growth.
