Rohtak: Former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has expressed concern over the handling of the ongoing farmers' protest, criticizing the government for blocking farmers at state borders. Calling the move undemocratic, Hooda urged the authorities to engage in meaningful dialogue and resolve the situation, especially as farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s health remains critical.

"The condition of Dallewal is serious. The government should pay attention and find a solution. Stopping the farmers at the border is undemocratic," Hooda said while speaking to the media in Rohtak.

He highlighted that the farmers had already shown cooperation by agreeing to avoid using tractor trolleys, as requested earlier. "Initially, they were asked not to come with tractor trolleys. They agreed. Now they should be allowed to come. Stopping them is wrong," he remarked.

Hooda’s comments come amidst rising tensions between protesting farmers and the government. Farmers have been pressing for their demands, including fair prices for their produce, compensation for crop damage, and relief from rising input costs.

Jagjit Singh Dallewal, a prominent leader of the farmers' movement, has been on a hunger strike, with his health reportedly deteriorating rapidly. Hooda emphasized the urgency of resolving the crisis to prevent further escalation.
