Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda remains confident that Congress will form the next government in Haryana. Speaking during the election campaign, Hooda emphasized, "I have been saying this since we started campaigning that there is a wave in favour of Congress. Congress will form a government with a thumping majority."
Hooda attributed this potential success to Congress' achievements during its rule from 2005 to 2014 and the shortcomings of the BJP government over the past decade. "The main factor was our achievements from 2005-2014 and the failure of the BJP government from 2014-2024—corruption and non-performance," he stated, highlighting issues such as unemployment, education, and security as Congress' key focus areas.
When asked about the Chief Ministerial position, Hooda affirmed, "It is everyone's right... This is democracy. Whatever decision the High Command takes, we will accept this," showing a unified front. He also acknowledged the seniority of Congress leader Kumari Selja, saying, "She is our senior leader."
