Davos, Switzerland: Actor Bhumi Pednekar, during her appearance at the World Economic Forum, discussed the importance of gender representation and empowerment.
"I have an audience that follows me, and I'm really grateful to them for giving me so much love all these years and for loving the characters I portray. It's upon myself to ensure that I don’t under-represent my gender," said Pednekar.

She emphasized her responsibility as a role model for young girls who watch her films, stressing that women should be present in all areas, especially in decision-making roles. "We need women in places of power, and this change must begin at the grassroots level and continue to boardrooms," she added.
Pednekar also expressed concern over the ongoing global issue of gender inequality, stating, "It’s really unfortunate that even today we ignore 50% of our global population." Her comments resonated with many, further fueling the conversation about gender equality in the entertainment industry and beyond.
