Bengaluru:Following the tragic stampede during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL victory celebration, BJP leader and Member of Parliament Dr. Sambit Patra launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Karnataka government, holding it responsible for the incident and demanding top-level resignations.

Addressing the media, Patra said, “Will Chief Minister Siddaramaiah resign over this colossal failure? Who authorised this entire event without proper planning and crowd control?” He further alleged that despite the chaos and deaths, the event continued, showing the government’s “total insensitivity and obsession with publicity.”

Patra also targeted Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, referring to a viral video where he was seen pushing aside a person who came between him and a camera. “The focus was not on managing the crowd, but on orchestrating a PR stunt,” he claimed. “Will DK Shivakumar apologise for this behaviour and resign?”

Questioning accountability, Patra demanded to know who permitted the event despite the deaths and blamed the administration for lacking coordination. “This is a complete failure of governance. They must own it,” he said.

He also questioned the silence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asking, “Where is Rahul Gandhi? Why is he hiding? Will he confront Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar and ask for their resignations?”
