New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of removing the portraits of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh from the Delhi Secretariat and the Chief Minister’s office, replacing them with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photograph.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party removed Baba Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's photo from the Delhi Secretariat and the Chief Minister's office and replaced it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo. Does the BJP believe that Narendra Modi is greater than Babasaheb Ambedkar, that Ambedkar's photo should be removed, and Narendra Modi's photo should be placed?" Atishi questioned.

She further claimed that the move has triggered nationwide outrage. “The whole country is angry. We are getting calls from different places across the country. People are asking why Ambedkar's photo was removed and why Narendra Modi's photo was placed in its place,” she said.

Atishi demanded that the BJP reinstate the portraits of Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh in the office where they were originally placed. “The BJP will have to answer for this and will again have to put Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s and Bhagat Singh’s photos in the office,” she asserted.
