Guwahati/Tokyo: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrapped up his 2-nation Advantage Assam Roadshows with a series of impactful meetings aimed at attracting global investments to the state. Dr. Sarma engaged with leading industry leaders, showcasing Assam’s safe environment, investor-friendly policies, and tailored incentives to position the state as a global investment hub.

The day began with a meeting with Takeshi Okubo, a senior representative from Tokyo Electron, a global leader in the semiconductor ecosystem. Tokyo Electron’s cutting-edge machines play a crucial role in chip development, and the Chief Minister invited the company to expand its presence in Assam’s upcoming Electronic City. This initiative is part of Assam’s broader vision to establish itself as a key player in India’s semiconductor manufacturing landscape.

Later, CM Sarma held discussions with Yoshiaki Asakura, Vice President and Executive Officer of Yokogawa Electric Corporation. The meeting focused on Yokogawa’s current operations in Assam, which are being carried out in collaboration with Numaligarh Refinery Ltd and Indian Oil. The Chief Minister urged the corporation to further expand its operations to contribute to the state’s growing energy sector, which has seen significant advancements in recent years.
