Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the swift delivery of new patrol boats to Kaziranga National Park. This initiative aims to strengthen the park's efforts in combating poaching and encroachment.
"In June, during my review meeting on the safety of Kaziranga National Park, our Forest Protection Force made a request for new patrol boats to check poaching and encroaching attempts. In less than 60 days, they have been delivered," said Dr. Sarma.
The addition of these patrol boats is expected to significantly bolster the park's security measures, ensuring better protection for its wildlife and preserving the integrity of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
