Hanamkonda, Telangana: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday announced that a long-standing demand for a railway manufacturing unit in Hanamkonda is now being fulfilled, with the establishment of a new mega factory that is currently under development.
Addressing a public gathering, the minister stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has responded to the region’s consistent call for enhanced railway infrastructure by approving the project. “The demand for a railway manufacturing unit has been there for a long time. Prime Minister Modi has fulfilled this demand. Today, this mega factory is being built and is taking shape,” Vaishnaw said.
He further highlighted the advanced design and operational capabilities of the upcoming facility. “Flexibility has been incorporated into its design for production,” he noted, indicating that the unit will be adaptable to evolving technological needs and manufacturing requirements.
The estimated cost for the project stands at approximately ₹700 crore. According to Vaishnaw, production at the facility is expected to commence by 2026, marking a significant milestone in the region’s industrial development.
