Patna, Bihar: Senior Congress leader and party observer for the Bihar elections, Ashok Gehlot, on Wednesday questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the absence of a clear chief ministerial face in its alliance for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.
Speaking at a Mahagathbandhan press conference, Gehlot said the people of Bihar deserved transparency from the ruling alliance. “We want to ask Amit Shah ji and the president of their party — who is the CM face of your alliance? This is our demand,” Gehlot stated.
Drawing a comparison with the situation in Maharashtra, Gehlot added, “We saw that the election was fought under the leadership of the then CM Eknath Shinde, but later we found out that someone else was chosen as the Chief Minister.”
He emphasized that such political ambiguity created distrust among voters and undermined democratic accountability. The veteran Congress leader urged the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to come clean before the electorate and clarify its leadership plan.
