Patna, Bihar: Responding sharply to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comments on the Chief Ministerial face of the Mahagathbandhan, Congress observer for the upcoming Bihar Election 2025, Ashok Gehlot accused the Prime Minister of making misleading statements to gain electoral advantage.
“PM Modi can say anything to win elections,” Gehlot remarked, questioning the Prime Minister’s claims about governance and law and order in Bihar. “What does that mean? We put the gun, and you’ve stayed silent—so where did your rule of law go? If there’s truly a rule of law in Bihar, could anyone even dare to put a gun?” he asked pointedly.
Gehlot reaffirmed that the Mahagathbandhan’s decision to project Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial face and Mukesh Sahani as Deputy Chief Minister was made “thoughtfully and collectively,” underscoring unity within the alliance.
He further alleged that the BJP-led government was resorting to “divisive tactics and false propaganda” instead of addressing the state’s real issues—such as unemployment, education, and farmers’ distress.
